Workshops

The purpose of workshops is to provide a more interactive and focused platform for presenting and discussing new and emerging ideas. The format of paper presentations may include oral presentations, poster presentations, keynote lectures and panels. Depending on the number of presentations, workshops can be scheduled for 1 day or 2 days. All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book, under an ISBN reference, and on digital support. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). The proceedings are submitted for indexation by SCOPUS, Google Scholar, DBLP, Semantic Scholar, EI and Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index.

Scope

Healthcare delivery undergoes a rapid change from traditional processes towards the use of digital health interventions and personalized medicine. On the one side, hospitals and health care providers introduce hospital information systems, electronic health records and telemedicine solutions for more efficient workflows within and beyond institutions. On the other side, patients may choose between a wide range of digital health applications provided by wearables and mobile phone applications supporting their self-management, health and well-being.

However, the question of how sustainable digital health implementation and diffusion can be successfully reached is not sufficiently solved yet. Also, it is questionable whether and which limitations still stay to ensure the continuity of care having digital health applications in place. For example, the German legislation on and introduction of DiGAs (Digital Health Applications ) as additional formally prescribable and statutorily funded therapy mode was well-acknowledged all over Europe. However, their actual added value and the possibility of more user-driven interventions remain questionable. Furthermore, it would be interesting to know what the prerequisites are or should be in order to arrive at "DiGA-like" applications across the board.

Our workshop seeks for submissions dealing with such questions and especially the diffusion and adoption of digital health innovations. We also invite papers on digital health innovations on an early stage of research that are presenting best practices or study protocols for successful uptake. We welcome research and theory papers as well as case studies. The workshop includes paper presentations, invited talks and open workshop parts for discussing innovative topics. Paper contributions are possible as regular papers, position papers or abstracts.
